Reading for January

I've been in a book-buying mood and these are the books I have to read for January (and maybe February):

1. The History of Love by Nicole Krauss: Thanks, babelbabe. I wouldn't normally have looked at this book but I'm loving it.
2. Empire Falls by Richard Russo: I saw this miniseries on HBO and enjoyed it. Since I usually like books better, I thought I'd read it.
3. The Thirteenth Tale by Diane Setterfied: I like a good ghost story, which amazon claims this is.
4. Founding Brothers by Joseph J. Ellis: This sounded interesting to me -- the tale of how our founding fathers fought about but eventually came to an agreement about the course of this country.
5. On Beauty by Zadie Smith: I have White Teeth but haven't read it; I thought I might be better motivated with this book.
6. Awake in the Dark by Shira Nayman: These are short stories about the children of Holocaust victims and participants.
7. Renfield: Slave of Dracula by Barbara Hambly: Hambly has written vampire novels before and they were very good -- Traveling with the Dead and Those Who Hunt the Night -- but it's been a long time, so I'm looking forward to this one.
