Dr Horrible's Sing-a-Long Blog: This is an exclusive to iTunes project by Joss Whedon, of Buffy the Vampire Slayer fame. Neil Patrick Harris is an extremely nerdy supervillian who, although he can make freeze rays and death rays, cannot talk to girls. Nathan Fillion, of Firefly and Serenity, is his nemesis, Captain Hammer, who, naturally, gets all the women. The show was extremely funny and very touching -- I find Whedon's ability to portray the comic right alongside the tragic to be one of the best things about him. Eventually, Dr. Horrible will be released on dvd; right now, it's only available on iTunes. It's worth the money.

The Dark Knight: I loved this movie. Yes, everyone hypes Heath Ledger's performance as the Joker, but they are right to do so -- he's embodies the complete psychopathic nature of this character -- you're never allowed to take him as a joke. He's downright scary and, oddly, a little sad, and I've never been scared by the Joker before. What I worry about, in the all of the hullabaloo surrounding this performance because of Ledger's death, is that the performances of Aaron Eckhart, as Harvey Dent, and Christian Bale, as Batman, will go totally unnoticed. Aaron Eckhart, in particular, was touching. His transition from crusading DA to what he eventually becomes is sad and moving to watch. The only weak point in this movie, for me, was the character of Rachael Dawes. This wasn't Maggie Gyllenhaal's fault either -- the character is simply boring. I couldn't really bring myself to care what happened to her. Otherwise, The Dark Knight is the best movie I've seen all summer and I loved Iron Man -- this movie just tops it.
