appendectomy

I just got back from an unexpected stay in the hospital. I had been feeling a little uncomfortable on Tuesday -- I got one hour of sleep. On Wednesday, I started hurting but not enough to not work Wednesday night. Thursday I called the doctor and was sent to the emergency room. By that afternoon, I was out of surgery. I was apparently really lucky that my appendix didn't rupture. They kept me from Thursday until Saturday because they'd had to deal with some bleeding and my temperature wouldn't go down. Funny, how when they finally let me come home, my temp went down and has stayed down.

I hate being in the hospital because I can't concentrate on reading anything with more depth than People magazine, so that's what I read. Luckily, before I went to the hospital I'd FINALLY finished reading Summerland by Michael Chabon -- I liked it -- I just didn't love it. Now that I'm home and have to stay home for awhile, I have to figure out something to read.

Ouch! Glad you're appendix-free! Here's to a speedy recovery with lots of good reading time.

Bless your bones! I'm glad you got the surgery in time. I hope your recovery is quick and problem free.

And selfishly I'm glad you're getting the extra reading time because that means book reviews for us!

Wow, you handled your ordeal much better than I would've. I hope you heal up fine and get a lot of rest.

If I hadn't had a hysterectomy a couple of years ago, I would have been hysterical and afraid. The upside of that surgery was that I wasn't so scared of this one.

And as long as I have to go through this, it's nice to have the extra reading time.

Well I guess you have a pass on not posting lately. I kept coming back saying "Robert Cray? Still???"

I'm glad you got to the hospital in time and that you're back home. Read up and tell us something good soon, ok??
