Lovely Christmas

I had a very hard time getting in a Christmas mood this year; I only managed it around December 23, which my girl child pointed out was a tad late. In spite of that, I did manage to get people presents that didn't particularly suck. Other people were in better Christmas moods than I was so my presents were great -- at least to me -- I got a bookcase (which to me, anyway, is a fantastic present) and a new radio for my car -- one that has a built in iPod player/charger. AND, because we needed it after the death of the earlier computer, my husband and I got a new, fast computer built for us by our boy child. Although this was a planned present, it was our gift to each other and we are really pleased. And new music:

Kicking Television: Wilco: I put off buying this for a long time because I hate paying $20.00 for music. I finally broke down and bought it and I do like it although I haven't had much chance to completely listen to it yet. So we'll see.

Down with Wilco: Minus Five: As part of my Wilco completeist kick, I got this. I'm just now giving it a listen and I think I like it on it's own merits. Retrieval of You and The Town That Lost It's Groove Supply are both fun and funny -- peppy tunes. We'll see what I think when I've had more chance to pay attention to the lyrics.

Glad you managed to salvage some of that Christmas spirit. I've been meaning to say how sorry I was to hear about your father-in-law.
I like Wilco, but I haven't heard all their stuff yet.

Thanks, lazy cow. It took me FOREVER to get some Christmas spirit but I did get some eventually.

I did have a good Christmas. It was quiet and I needed that.

I adore Wilco, as do my four boys. I reside in a wilco-intensive zone.

I know you do, bb. It makes me jealous.
