We frequented the local book stores, bought some books, and went out on the beach and read about Blackwater and 9/11 and the Bill of Rights. Even with those topics, we were oddly at peace.

I am glad you had such a lovely get away. I hear it is supposed to get cold again on Monday, so enjoy it while it lasts. I know I am having a hard time doing my homework. I would rather be outside.
Sounds like a fantastic getaway!
P.S. Love love love Steppin' Out! I put that on one of my last mixes. Such a fun tune.
Marsha: It looks like it's going to get cold again today (Sunday)!
Kristina: I loved the getaway and I love that Joe Jackson album. I realized recently that I didn't have it on cd and I really wanted to hear one of those tunes. I only had it on vinyl. So of course I HAD to get it from iTunes.
I love your blog...that mix of talk about books and music is sublime. You and I are so similar re music tastes!
Thank you, bybee. I have always loved your blog too. You've added many many books to my tbr pile.
I, too, am a big Joe Jackson fan, though I'll admit I only have Night & Day on vinyl as well.
Sounds like a nice trip. I hope you had a great time!
