Tagging!

I've been tagged! This is my first time, so here goes.

1. Total volume of music files on my computer? I'm not sure how to tell the volume of music files -- according to iTunes, I have 985 songs or 3.6 GB. I think I have more that aren't saved in my iTunes music folder.

2. The last CD I bought was? I actually got six (I know -- I was out of control): Shooter Jennings' Put The O Back in Country, Lizz Wright's Dreaming Wide Awake, Rory Block's From the Dust, Shelby Lynne's Suit Yourself, Aimee Mann's The Forgotten Arm and Train's My Private Nation.

3. Song playing right now: Late For the Sky by Jackson Browne. He reminds me of my mom a lot -- she and I both liked him.

Five songs I listen to a lot or that mean a lot to me
a. Bleed Like Me by Garbage: Cutting wasn't a thing when I was a teenager but I relate to the emotions in this song.

b. I Walk the Line by Johnny Cash. This is my favorite Johnny Cash song and Rodney Crowell's tribute to Johnny Cash and to this song, I Walk the Line (revisited), on The Houston Kid, explains why -- he says seeing "Shakespeare done real fine" was like "the first time I heard Johnny Cash sing I Walk the Line."

c. Moondance by Van Morrison. Don't know why -- I just love this song.

d. I Bid You Goodnight by Aaron Neville. This song expresses a faith in God that is almost tangible and beautiful. It's not a belief that admits of no doubt, but one that has worked through that doubt and reached a place of understanding. Plus it's a beautiful song.

e. Please Stay by Warren Zevon. I'm amazed at the emotion expressed in this song. Plus Emmylou Harris (one of my favorite singers) does vocals on this song. And because I know that Warren Zevon knew he was dying when he recorded The Wind, this song almost always makes me cry.

Which 5 people are you passing this baton to, and why?

I don't know anyone to tag! How about Kara -- she's got interesting taste in music.

Funny how I always come across your comments when I'm in a foul mood and they make me smile. :)
